Use of Point of Care HIV Viral Load Monitoring to improve Viral Load Suppression among Children and Adolescents Living with HIV in East Africa (EAPoC-VL).

 

The Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute (KCRI) is an academic Centre for evidence-based health interventions. The institute initiates and conducts medical research to develop evidence for interventions and provides research training and necessary research logistics to collaborators and partners. KCRI, in collaboration with the Eastern Africa Consortium for Clinical Research (EACCR2) funded by EDCTP, wishes to announce a PhD Sponsorship through the EAPoC-VL project. The project aims to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability and effectiveness of PoC HIV VL monitoring to improve VL suppression rates among children and adolescents in East Africa (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda). This PhD position will be placed  in workpackage 2 which is led by KCRI and Amsterdam Institute of Global Health and Development (AIGHD). This workpackage is focusing on implementation of EA-PoC and will mainly look at feasibility and acceptability of the intervention by conducting mixed-methods research. More...
