The Visit aim for MCDC progress review including achievements made since MCDC programme started, 2009. Baseline Need Assessment follow up, Progress reports by MCDC sponsored PhDs, Next step and MCDC 2 and site visit. Members from Wellcome Trust, London, Copenhagen, Malawi, Ghana, Uganda and Senegal will attend.

Aim: to assess the BSU programme performance to make recommendations for the second phase of the programme.

WHOLE GENOME SEQUENCE BASED DIAGNOSTICS AND INVESTIGATIONS: VISIT BY MEMBERS FROM TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF DENMARK
Whole Genome Sequence Based Diagnostics and Investigations is a programme that has offered PhD Scholarships in Genomic studies. The visit aims at evaluating possible candidates for PhD positions and detailed discussions on possible Laboratory setup for genomic laboratory activities.

MALARIA CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT CONSORTIUM (MCDC) FILM BRIEF TO SUPORT EVIDENCE BASED HEALTH INTERVENTIONS: KCRI
Film aim to work as evidence for strengthened PhD programme through MCDC and other collaborators. This will show contribution made by MCDC and other capacity strengthening programmes to PhD programme at KCMC and how different collaborators work to complement each other and add value to post-graduate training. Three members from London will lead the film.

PanACEA annual meeting
The third annual meeting for PanACEA consortium will be held in Cape Town, South Africa. The past two annual meetings were held at KCRI, the secretariat of the PanACEA (Pan African Consortium for Evaluation of Antituberculous Agents). The consortium has 12 research partners/sites in Africa, and 6 European research and academic institutions.
